So I opt'd to go with BMW just because of my fear of there being actual mechanical issues. With that said I did just that and showed the SA what wobble I was talking about. In addition the SA told me that the cars they send to the shop only get repaired with OEM parts.

Now I have the pleasure of driving a Ford F250 Super Duty Pick up truck from Enterprise. They said to me "We have a Nissan Rogue or the Super Duty" No brainer to me!

Did you negotiate a diminished value claim with the guy’s insurance company prior to accepting their accident repair claim?

Not yet. I spoke to them about it briefly they are going to have another agent reach out to me to discuss DV. I didn't get the repair estimate yet either. The inspection is tomorrow.

**Update**

Progressive SUCKS, They want to try and refurbish my trunk, replace the tail gate with OEM, Replace my Bumper with Aftermarket and Replace my Tail light with after Market. The Adjuster sent me an Estimate for around $5k but the BMW Dealership is fighting it. Expecting to hear back today if they were able to at-least get the OEM tail light done

Have you talked to your insurance company? They should be able to help push back and go all OEM parts

I had around 64k miles on it when I was rear ended.

Regarding the parts, make sure they have actually looked for the aftermarket bumper, I was told there are none available, so maybe they are talking before verifying. My body shop couldn’t even find a used/salvaged one to repair. The light is only $200ish for a new OEM one, should be not even be a discussion point, they may save $100 tops going aftermarket.

Spoke to the body shop today. Open road Bmw our sources to a shop called heavenly body work. They had great reviews and after speaking to them on the phone was a no brainer. Shop manager reached out to me to let me know they are getting an OEM bumper cover brand new, a reclaimed (used OEM) tailgate and likely new trunk. For the tail light they will be replacing with OEM. The shop was not hearing any of the aftermarket talk and is doing everything OEM. Very happy with the decision to go with these guys.

Also, spoke to that company "collision claims" (another forum member posted) they seem to think I can get around $3k in DV for the accident. Does that sound right to you guys?

Maybe but its a number you can negotiate if your vehicle doenst fall outside the mileage and age parameters for your state. In ga something with that mileage, you would be told to pound sand.

No. They’re majorly lowballing you. I’ve seen on forums anywhere between a 20%-30% hit on resale value. As stated before, you need to do research and provide a documented rationale to them. As of now, they’re not even close. For example, if your car is normally worth $32k, the 30% hit to resale after the accident is almost $10k.
