i just recently purchased a 745i 2003 . got it for a good deal so i couldn't see a problem with it but i just remembered the dvd for the nave might be outdated.. any ideas? and what could i do for power parts in this car?

No. Totally different systems and your X5M is hard drive based with no way to extract the map data. You can just buy the update disk for your 7 should be about $200.
