Gives me an Idea of what my ADVs might look like on an F85 should I decide to go a newer X5M in the future. Not quite ready to give up the e70 just yet, but this one is looking pretty sweet!

What do you guys think?

Love the body lines of the newer X5s but hate how they drive. They just feel so ordinary.

Haven't driven one yet, especially one that has been modded...
I'm sure a set of wheels and a drop would certainly help.

I have been working on my townhome for the last few months while the X5M and our other fun car (500SL) has been in storage, so nothing really new here as far as the cars themselves are concerned.... but I am continuing to extend the renovation into the garage. I had a new garage doorand side mount motor installed to replace the old, rotted wooden door and you might remember the IKEA PAX system on the back wall. I am currently shopping for a floor system to finish it off and have received samples from RaceDeck. I am waiting on samples from SwissTrax before making a final decision. Here is what the garage looks like now (Pardon the mess) and the proposed floor design;

PAX system:

Proposed floor design;

Old Garage door and controller:

New Garage door;

(just another picture whored from ADV1 website);

and my favorite one from Wheelsboutique in case you guys have forgotten what the X5M looks like:

Thanks. Hoping to get the garage wrapped up in the next few weeks, then it may be on to more mods to the X5M!
I just hope mine looks as good as the garage represented above.

More mods for the beast you say? I might know someone who would be able to help you out with that...

Say an alcantara steering wheel etc etc.

Going to Mpact East!!!

http://www.mpacteast.com
https://www.facebook.com/Mpacteast/

I just registered my X5M for the roll race event on Friday and the show on Saturday...
Mark your calanders: July 8+9th is coming fast!

I have been going to Bimmerfest for a few years. The event itself has always been enjoyable, but the new venue sucked! It was nothing more than a dust and gravel bowl. I will not be going back unless they move it to a better location. Mpact, on the other hand will be excellent at beautiful Pocono Raceway with a host of vendors and roll racing on Friday!

Looking forward to this event.

Hoping you guys will be there to represent and share your X5Ms!

I just sent a link of the problems you were having coding the headlights to my buddy in hopes it will resolve my coding troubles

I had RaceDeck at my old house and found it a pain to maintain, even though it certainly looked very good! I had quite a few white tiles, and I literally would have to get down on my hands and knees and scrub them to get them clean again. My new house already had epoxy, even though it needs to be redone, so I sold all my RaceDeck to a guy from Dallas a week ago.

I briefly considered an epoxy floor, but the idea of having to redo them every few years is what lead me to tile flooring. I am avoiding white tiles and going with gray and black with a red accent stripe. After receiving samples from Race Deck and Swiss Traxx, I have decided to go with Swiss Traxx. Their product is slightly more expensive, but their tiles are beefier and they are also very quiet. Another good selling point for tile floors is that they will have residual value; you can take them with you when you move or sell them. Mine is due to arrive after Mpact East.

Looking forward to them.

Good epoxy floors will last a lifetime. It's the kits from Home Depot that will only last for a few years...

I also agree with keeping the back clean and debadged. Maybe my "XFIVEM" license plate and a simple black frame will be enough?
I like the idea of retaining the "M" valve in the exhaust, so I have decided against the Megan exhaust (for now) and may try the OEM muffler mod with new exhaust tips instead.

CLOSING THE GAP WITH H&Rs!

Can you see the difference?
How's the ride on the H&R springs? Do u have bags in the rear?

Wow, now that's a trip back into time!
The X5M has changed a little since those photos. Some thoughts have become realities, while others have fallen by the wayside. Added LED Headlights and OEM Carbon front spoiler. Forgot about Megan exhaust and muffler mod... Downpipes sound pretty aggressive with stock system. (Considering Akrapovic titanium w/carbon tips at the moment)

VS.

I love the H&Rs. The ride is quite nice, but also becomes more taunt and feels much better planted when you toss it into a corner.

In other words, More M-like.
