Exclamation Pay for BMW to do a fluid change service or go elsewhere?

The reason I ask this is because I want to do a oil change in addition to differential and maybe transmission oil. Do any of you know if BMW will even do it if I pay and even if the idrive doesn't tell them to? I know a place where the owner is the head technician at my local dealer. I guess he hires and trains his own techs at his place so I was thinking I would take it there. Anyone know of how much BMW would even charge for this service?

I could see an oil change but a tranny/diff change seems excessive. How many miles do you have on your X6?

Oil change is about $125 at the dealer. Tranny/diff will run close to $300. Reason being is tranny fluid is very expensive.

I have to agree with chuck , unless you've driven across the country ( a few times) doubt you have enough miles on your car to warrant doing this.

Don't forget that maintenance is all inclusive for the first 50k (I just had them add a quart of oil on them). If it is needed, it is at no cost to us.

Okay I've decided to do a oil change and differential fluid change at my 2000 mile mark. I'm at 1900 right now. The reason i've decide that I wanted to do this is because I've been told by numerous people, a few mechanics, that changing the oil and the differential fluid after the break-in period actually helps it from deteriorating in the future. I know some say theres no reason to do it but some say its better for the car. I don't think it would hurt if i did. Just gotta figure out if BMW will perform this change at my request of if i will have to go to the other shop.
