E70 2008 3.0d SE possible Mods

Hi guys

Just got my E70 home from the dealer and very happy with it but really want to make it look like a Sport.



First thing i though was wheels. Get the 20" but which ones... Y spoke or the M Sport?

Running Boards... Can i just get a set on ebay and bolt them on? Which are the ones to buy?

Any thing else that can help? Spraying the front grille? If so what is the stock BMW colour i should choose?

Any help greatly appreciated...

Wheels...that's personal preference, the grills most guys run are the BMW performance grills that are black. As for running boards the OEM ones are horrible the only thing they are good for is getting your pant legs dirty. If you buy the running boards you also need the supports skeleton underneath them as well.

Here is my diesel with 20" 214 and BMW performance grills, I later changed out the running boards for the rocker panels like you have.




I have 22" wheels on it here but the same style rockers you have.

I do prefer the 20" y spokes on yours in black..

Fitting the running boards on Monday and wil spray the grille silver so will post to see if you think its an improvement

You should be able to sell the rockers on here, lots of people are tired of the dirty pant legs from the running boards.

can i ask, to get that 'ALL BLACK' look at the front do i have to paint the mesh grill and main grill in a matt black? Also what about the chrome trim around the grille?

My mesh came all black, I have heard of guys buying the black mesh to replace the silver though. The grills I have are the BMW Performance grills I got them from the dealership. I have heard of guys just painting the chrome part of the OEM grills gloss black.
