KayTees X5
Once I got the car, my Dad said the car is already good looking enough. But I told him it looks too granny (many rich asian women drive X5s in Richmond BC) and that I shouldn't throw so much money down the drain. Of course I semi listened.
Mods I have so far consist of: (prepare for small list) Waiting for the approval of custom licence plate that says KAYTEE -Carbon Fibre the wooden trims & part of the steering wheel (not really good at it, first timer) -Plasti-Dip rims, matte black at the moment, waiting for the 1-2 week curing period to go by then I'm going to spray 2 coats of glossifier to make it look more shiny Mods I have THOUGHT OF so far consist of: Lumen Fog Light LED Bulbs, as I would much prefer my fog lights to be the same colour as my headlights. Lumen LED Daytime Running Lights, looks great, makes the car look more mean at night time Smoke Film Vinyl Tint for the taillight, I was gonna order this right away once I had the idea but it wouldn't look great if my rims weren't blacked out, should have just ordered it and had it sitting. MGP Caliper Kit, did a bit of research about other cheap alternatives and most people say it would jeopardize the brakes? Was looking to get it then spray it metallic "Monte Carlo" blue with some high heat paint and then maybe add an "X5" print (not sticker) onto it. Really love the blue caliper on M5 F10's Wheel Spacers & Fender Flares really like the looks of the 4.8 X5s as they look so fat and gorgeous from the back. Didn't want to spend a whole lot to get fatter tires/rims to accommodate the fender flares so was thinking Wheel Spacers to make the wheel stick out more. AND OF COURSE THE NEW BIKE! |

I suggest spending the money on the OEM fender flares. Probably my favorite mod I did on my X5 when I had it. I thought about skipping it, but really glad I did it.
Check out Sorat Wheels in North Van. Got my replica 214's for a good price out there. Skip out on the LED strip...makes the truck look cheap.

Next purchase should probably be a decent utility knife to fix that wrap job
Jokes aside, I'd avoid the taillight tint, caliper covers, and led strips all together. Save your money for a decent set of wheels and tires / fender flares. |

Don't understand what you are trying to prove here Kaytee. You stated you want a caliper cover to essentially simulate that you have a large braking caliper yet you go on and on posting pictures of an actual caliper and not a cover.

I'm not proving anything lol, I just found out its a whole caliper and wanted to show I understood what you mean. Looking at it from an angle its a full caliper and not a cover. I don't know why your talking like I offended you in a way, if I did I apologize, I'm just some average guy trying to make his car look better.

I never said that was picture of an angled caliper was caliper cover, looking at the picture I can clearly tell its a whole caliper that wraps around the whole Brake pad. And no, I don't put M shit on a normal X5. Based on the stock brakes, i was just wondering if there's anything I could put on it where I could change the color. I did read about just painting the whole caliper with high heat paintalso saw that there were caliper covers but I was afraid aftermarket/fake plastic ones would jeopardize the brakes or they may melt.

I took no offense I was just not understanding your post when all you did was post a picture. At any rate, stay away from the covers and just paint the calipers if you so please. I've personally rebuilt calipers and I always stick to factory silver color and it always looks good.
