09 30i Lack of power uphill -- any experience?

Hi, I have 2009 X5 30i and I believe this have 265 hp engine.
However, my vehicle seems to have hard time going uphill and it always have to go all the way down to 2nd gear to go up.
I can't describe the steepness of the hill I usually go but its around 45 degree to 55 degree steep. (yes its public road, quite large road, not off road)
Even on less steeper road (30 degree or bit less), it seems to need lower gear to continue going up hill.

Is it just me or is this normal? Is the drag due to being xDrive or heavy weight of the car?
My other car, 2006 330i with 255 hp and 2013 740i with 310 hp can very easily go up this hill.

Thank you.
