basic bumper to msport bumper pdc fitment.. need help
hello guys sorry if this has already been answered already but ive searched high and low and even called the dealership.. heres my situation. right now i am getting a msport front bumper installed and wanted to install the park sensors but my body shop called and said it looks like i need new brackets to install the sensors on my msport because the ones on my regular bumper glued on.. can anyone with experience tell me what i need to put park sensors on my front msport bumper? do i just need to buy new brackets or holders? please help.. (note: my car is already installed with pdc. just need to connect it to the msport front)

So basically what you're saying here is that if the MSport bumper isn't equipped to have these sensors (ie., no holes for it) a shop could drill the holes and then throw these brackets on there some how to hold the sensors in? OP did you figure this out? I'm in the process of ordering up an MSport bumper now too to fix a small accidnet I had... but I want to retain my PDC as well... posted up a question but no replies yet. Dealership is clueless... Does anyone know if the MSport cars ever even had the option for PDC? |

can you elaborate a bit more on how you installed? I get you drill holes... I get you have brackets... my question is how do you mount the bracket to the bumper that doesn't come with tabs or anything for you to mount the brackets to?

Thanks mastermayhm so just to update the thread... my body shop ordered the PDC brackets, and the JGMods M-Sport replica.... They understand they're going to have to drill holes for the PDC and find a way to mount it... I'll keep you all updated. Hoping to get the car back by Christmas but not looking too optimistic since the bumper only shipped yesterday afternoon... 5-7 business days to reach FL via Freight. Will post pics

I've done this too. Glue the the brackets onto the inside of the bumper so they line up with the PDC holes. Simple as that.

I ordered these LCI Mtec parts for PDC fitting. I highly recommend using a heating gun to make the adhessive stick well to the bumper. Remember to clean the bumper first!

Good point, use heat to get it to stick properly, especially at this time of year.

for anyone looking... the bumper has to have holes drilled for the PDC sensors and custom mounted somehow... body shop did it for me. There is no OEM way to do it as these bumpers both from JGMODS and genuine from BMW do not have a way to mount the PDC... can't see em' from this picture but they're there and they do work flawlessly.

My car is going through the same process as your situation and I just got them to drill holes to the MTech front bumper that I bought off of Jay @JGMods. They are working on installing the PDC and have ordered the new brackets from the dealership and will be using 3M tape+3M adhesive bonder to secure them from the inside.
Will let you know how this turns out to be. |
