Michelin 21" tires??

I have not seen them offered now a couple pop up for sale. Michelin Pilot Sport XL in stock 21" sizes. 325/30/21 and 285/35/21.

Anyone know anything about these other than they will be OEM for next X5M and X6M? Barely used set available as takeoff. Any idea where they might have been used other than BMW?

I heard rumors that the Pilot Super Sport were to come on the new X5///M and X6///M. I cannot wait to get my hands on a set. Can you provide links as to where you found them for sale?

Check this link:

http://www.michelinman.com/tire-sele...DR=1#techspecs

This really surprises me. I just got another set of 21" wheels with Pirelli P Zero tires and I knew that BMW was coming out with non runflat Michelins for the new X5M and X6M but I hadn't seen them in print yet. Note the prices are not posted!!

I'll let you know what else I find.

Do an eBay search. These must be BMW factory tires or something. You can pick up a set for around $1k. Might be worth it

Good find troymi! I actually looked at the Michelin site not long ago, and those two sizes that are spec'd for OEM BMW were not listed, so that's definitely a new addition. I'd say we'll finally have a really awesome 21" tire option. Can't wait to get these things installed, our Dunlops should be just about shot by the time these things are available for purchase!

I ended up buying a set from a tire seller on eBay from South Carolina. He had a full set (may have more?) with 95% tread left. They have the BMW star as OEM tires and they are NOT runflat 21" tires in our OEM sizes. The only thing I can figure is they are from BMW prototype builds. They have mid 2014 build dates. Maybe BMW or Michelin is letting some of these into the wild? Hard to say.

They arrive Tuesday. Unfortunately, I won't get to try them until June. Send me a PM if you want his information. He shipped same day and his feedback all seems to check out.

I'd be interested in a set, but I'd really only like to buy new.

I had to get the Michelin tires so I can sell my runflats. They are the Pirelli tires that come OEM so I hope I'll have some luck selling them. But, the non runflats should be so much better. I'll let you know how successful my experiment is next week.

Ho! Ho! Santa was late. Set of the Michelin new 21" tires arrived today. I thought they felt a little lighter and I was correct. The Pirelli runflats are 140 pounds for the set and the Michelins are 125 pounds for all four.

I won't get to try them for a long time, but I'm going to get them mounted up anyway on my 599M wheels. Can't wait for the snow to go away!

That's the Pirelli on the left and the Michelin on the right. These are the Pilot Super Sport by the way, not the Pilot Sport Cup.

I purchased a set too. They came from BMW used on test track I think and look like they were driven around the track a few times hard. Very few miles and otherwise new. I have to finish off wearing down my Dunlops so I can put these on. Here is where I got them from. http://www.ski.com/blog/measure-grea...-views-4-days/

You should confirm your link!

I'm taking my Pirelli run flats off before I even use them. If you get these mounted post a review. Every car with a Pilot Super Sport set seems to be better.

Thanks for the heads up. I was hesitant to get OEM 21s on my X5M because of the lack of NON run flat tires in the OEM sizes. This is a great alternative to the previous tire choices available.

I had super sports on my E90 M3 and they were great.

That's great! Looks like you're in MN so in the same boat as me that you won't get to try them for a while.

Would someone buy a set in the south and tell us all how great these tires are? I saw them on the X5M and X6M at the Detroit Auto Show last week and they visually look fantastic on the wheel.

Hey bud,

Thanks for posting these tires on here... truly a great deal.

In reagards to the performance of these tires, they are phenomenal.

I've been running them for years on all of my cars. They are hands down the best summer tire on the market.

Particularly if your transitioning from run-flats.... it will be night & day.

Purchased some as well. Had PSS on the last car and they were amazing; had to get some for the X5M too. Now I need to shop for some 21s!
