X5M pictures from the truck on the OEM car jack ?
Hello All,
I'm thinking of replacing the Run-flat tires for the normal ones, when the time is there. There is all ready a lot written about the run-flat tires and what comes around when you change them. The spare tire with steel or alloy rim, the jack, the place in the car and so on. What i want to know is how the jack fits in the stand or jackpositions on the car ? I see also al lot of different kind of jacks used for the E70 X5 or the X5M. is there a difference in the jacks between a X5 or a X5M ? The truck has special positions where to place the jack and i was wondering, does the jack have to be equiped with a special jack-head or connection-form On the bottom of the car is a special plastic rectangular shape to place the jack. Does the jack-head has to have the same shape in contra ? Does any of you have pictures form your truck X5M standing on the OEM aftermarket jack while changing tires ? Also a detail from the jack connecting to the car/ jackspot ? Any picture is welcome. thanks in advance |

You will need at minimum a 3 ton jack along with some steel jack stands...as far as jacking up these heavy beasts, there are 4 jack points located behind the front wheels and in front of the rear wheels...I use a jack adaptor which has the same shape as the jack points and works perfect

I have the exact same floor jack. Jack pads and jack stands from Reverse Logic http://www.reverselogic.us/. A pair of lug bolt guides are helpful too.

Also, I have yet to find a solution for the front center jack location. I had the BMS pad zing out on me, which dented my undertray slightly. YMMV |

Hee guys,
Thanks for your reactions. Perhapse it's the lanquage-problem but i don't mean pictures or problems from the X5M on a floor jack. The floor jack and the special adapter you have to use in order not to destroy the plastic jackpoint on the truck, isn't the problem. I have a 3 Ton floorjack an adapter and use them in order to change my sommer en winter tires/rims. What i want to know is the right type of OEM-jack i need when i must use my sparetire, when having a puncture after i get rid of the Run-flats. It looks like there is a difference between a OEM jack for a X5 and a X5M ? Is that right ? And i want to know ( see a picture) from the right jack in combination with a detail-picture from the jack-head and one with the X5M on the jack |

I have a BMW jack for my non-M, which has the jack point adapter built into it (jack "head"). I doubt there's a difference with a BMW M jack. Any jack you use must have the adapter, either built-in or as a separate piece. Otherwise, you will crush the plastic jack points.
