Subtle, but yet vastly improved at the same time. Love a bit of OEM+.

Found a set of ADV.1s that my buddy (Rodney with white X5M) and I have been playing around with...
Trying to decide on a color... (and I still haven't decided if I'm going to keep them yet). Of course I like the gunmetal, but that would be too close to my BBS SVs...I am also tempted by the gold, but I think I would ultimately do matt black centers on gloss black lips so my X5M would have a meaner, more sinister look to it.

Gunmetal/bronze looks best on Rodney's truck IMO

Sorry to go off point here for a bit, but I found this thread while researching muffler delete and this came up. I just recently picked up a '10 X5M and I'm curious what entailed you having BMW update all the modules, what it'd do for you, etc? I've been meaning to find out what it'd take to do a hard reset, much like a cellphone, on this vehicle so that it'll remove the PO's GPS history, hard drive music, key settings, etc and be like a brand new vehicle electronically for me.

I did an LED headlight conversion and while the dealership was trying to figure everything out, they did a complete reset and updated all the modules.
I too like having a brand new vehicle electronically...

Sold the ADV.1s to my buddy Rodney. In the end, I like the BBS SVs better than any combination I could come up with.

Now if the ADV.1s were the 5.2s, you wouldn't be able to pry them away from me

Isn't this something I can do myself with NCS Expert or one of the other multiple programs on my GT1 laptop?

During my LED headlight conversion, I had my X5M in the BMW service dept to attempt to code them. While it was there, the tech updated the entire vehicle to the latest software, including an ECU flash. However, this also wiped out my tune! The G5 handheld tuner would not recognize the ECU after the flash and would not allow me to re-install the tune. So, I had to send it back to AA and they, in turn had to send it back to the manufacturer in Italy for a complete reset. In the meantime, I've been driving around with downpipes on the base tune (with a check engine light) for a few weeks. We were fighting a deadline and Pedro from AA worked with me to be sure that I was able to get the correct tune installed in time for the show.

Kudos to everyone involved that helped correct the issues and make this happen!
I finally pulled the trigger today on the AA stage 2 tune...how hard was it to install?

Also I already bought Ultimate Racing 3'' catless dp's but I'm thinking about buying the AA dp's instead...I think I should keep it all the same brand. How do you like the sound? I have straight pipes that already sound mean so I can't wait to hear the difference

What do you guys think of these?
I'm looking at a set of ADV 5.2s, either in this color or in Titanium Gunmetal (same color as my current BBS SVs)

I like the design. I went with a two piece myself, from velos. In fact I should probably post up the teaser from Omar. Definitely do a different color than your current set. That way you can swap out looks at will.

(its in the VO!)

I'm sure that I have to buy a new FRM3 because mine is out of the date range suggested by the retrofit guide, so I bought new FRM directly from BMW ($345), installed wiring leads according to wiring instructions, tied the unused wires back, Installed FRM and sent my truck to be coded with Autologic. This system kept defaulting and didn't recognize or wasn't able to code the FRM... Indy tech advised me to take it to the dealer.

Dealer tech discovered that my new FRM3 was from a bad batch... from a service bulletin (issued last week) identifying serial model ranges. Luckily, he was able to get a new/good one under warranty since I had a receipt from BMW. He also discovered that there has been an update to the retrofit kit dated 06/13. The new update apparently does not require an FRM3 change for models built after 10/09 as long as it has SA 2VA (Yay! mine has this). The new wiring harness has 5 wiring leads at the headlight connector vs. 4 (I also have the updated wiring harness). Since I can use my original FRM3, we reinstalled it back into my truck and put the newest/latest/greatest FRM3 (unused) back in the box. The wiring has been double checked and the additional leads have now been routed/installed in the correct pin locations (for vehicles WITH SA524)

I should be good, right?

Not so fast... BMW NA says that this retrofit is for a european only vehicle, so BMW won't allow the tech to code it.... WTF!?!

Right now, I'm like

The BMW tech suggested that I take it back to Indy shop with autologic to see if they could code it, so tomorrow, I will retrieve my truck from BMW and send it back to the Indy shop to attempt to code it once again with Autologic. (at least my FRM is good and I am confident that the wiring has been done correctly)
Brother did u had to get this connectors ( D , E , K ) on this pic diagram ?

I can answer that one. D, E, and K come with the harness if you order it from that Latvia site.
