Dripping fluid from front of the vehicle
I picked up my 2009 X5 from Peter Pan BMW dealership yesterday after a recall repair of faulty gasoline sensors replacement. Work was done top notch, no problems with gasoline sensors anymore. At the same time, just like before and every time that I take my car to the dealership, they perform a 100-point check for anything that may be wrong with the car and then suggest a repair. Well, they did not find anything wrong with it, all checked out OK (this is the good news). This morning, however, I noticed a small drip of what may be windshield water fluid or antifreeze (cold) in front of the vehicle under the hood, after I parked. I called my rep at the BMW dealership, he said that most likely it is one of the fluids that they topped-off during the inspection, which is leaking from too much of it. Has anyone experienced anything like this? Any suggestions? Should I worry?

Don't worry, if something was wrong, you'd have a light lit somewhere... If the dealer's not too far, go ahead and pay them a quick visit !

Stopped after some time. I guess that the dealer was correct, it was just some windshield washer fluid, overfilled, when topped-off at the dealership. I am a happy camper now. Thank you 10-X5-35d

I wouldn't try the WW, but I did have some drops of antifreeze when I was still a mechanic, and it's not very tasty...

I think that it was just extra windshield washer fluid, which was topped-off at the dealership as a courtesy. After a few days it stopped completely. No issues

Kills pets all the time. People leave the drain pan out after changing antifreeze, and it is sweet, so animals drink it up.... |

I know, and beleive me, it wasn't intentionnal, and also only a drop 20+ years ago. I was starting as a mechanic, and opened a still hot system. There was antifreeze all over the place. A lot on my clothes, and a drop on my lips.
