X5M facelift?
Does anyone know if the facelift rear lights on the X5M can be installed on the pre facelift X5m?
And is that the only difference in appearance other than the new front camera's? |

There's already a facelift for the X5M? It's been out for only a few months. The facelift usually occurs in the fourth year of the seven-year cycle for a platform. Did you mean the X5?

Here's what the regular X5 got updated with:
1. N55 and N62 engines 2. 8-speed tranny 3. New bumpers 4. New LED headlights 5. New LED taillights 1 and 3 are definitely not applicable to the X5M. It probably won't get 2 either, as they would need to tune it to get a M version. It probably won't get the new headlights either since many Ms in the past haven't gotten the facelifted headlights of their counterpart series cars. Most recently, think E90 M3. The X5M may get the LED taillights though, like the E90 and E92/E93 M3 got updated taillights from the series car LCI. |

Sad to state that the 2011 X5s will not be getting the LED headlights...at least in North America. That's confirmed via pictures on XOutpost.
X5M is going to get the new tails for 2011, that one is from a BMW press release. |
