Cel - P0101 and P0112. Need help

Hi all - I have a 2011 x5 35d and got a couple codes that popped up. The car also went into "limp mode" (reduced engine power). I cleared them once already, but they came back a day later.

The searching I saw said that it was most likely the MAF sensor going bad or the IAT sensor. I assume these two things are related. Has anyone here dealt with these two codes?

Has anyone tried cleaning the MAF sensor first before replacing it? If so, how did you clean it?
