Help with trade assist

My 2009 has spent four solid months at the dealer service center, first an AC issue and then the pre-BMW admission of guilt lag pump issues.

Called BMW CS, dealer called back saying they were able to get me into a new one. I'm clueless can anyone share experience?

Thanks.

Had it done on my e90 due to hpfp failure. They basically take your car, give it a cash value..whatever it might be worth at the moment. Then they put in cash on their end..a few thousand say. Then you'd have to put in the remaining. Whatever you're next vehicle comes out to be, and haggling the price is abit harder.

Mine needed to be built, so I just drove the e90 for 2.5 weeks til my e70d came. I had asked about mileage being a problem and the manager said don't worry. Good luck, tell us how it goes!

Ps...whatever mod you've done. Ie..tints, exhaust, tell them. You may get comp'd for it. Had tints and BMW exhaust and they comp'd me a few things.

The deal you get with trade assist depends on the severity.

At least they give you trade-in value plus a few grand.

In your case, you should get what you paid for the car origininally minus xxx cents per mile driven, plus a new BMW at whoelsale cost.

I would not take anything less given your situation.

Trade assist is negotiable and they may throw out a lame offer at first. Ignore it and press for more. If they do not respond, I would get an attorney.

Four months? really? So sad.

Does anyone know how to validate the wholesale cost of a vehicle? Also how to determine the amount BMW provides in support of the trade assist?

Having the same issue. 16 service visits and another scheduled. They are working with me but let's see what the numbers are before I commit to a 2012.
