Towing my 7000 lb Boat with the X5
after suggestions from others i went with the OEM hitch. Glad i did (mostly), its a heavy sucker, 60 lbs or so. install was easy, though they didnt include the extra trim for the cutout, which sucked, but still was able to launch and tow the boat this weekend. not sure of the tongue weight, but it handled the beast pretty easily. i will need a hitch riser though, a little too close to the ground for comfort, but still not much sag, impressed with the X5.

the boat has a mercury racing 500 EFI, so it scoots pretty good.
the boat is 5050 and the trailer around 1500-2000...i dont have much gas in it right now, and if i tow it more than a few miles ill have less than a 1/4 tank (102 gallon tank) plus it has a freshwater tank as well, but i dont carry much water in it either.
