Injector recall
Just a word of warning to anyone with the injector recall that DIY or use Indy shops BMW will not reimburse you for the parts or work if you do it yourself so if your having any type of injector issues take it to the dealer.
Ask me how I know ... Fuck bmw

I never got a recall letter. Between work and life I don't get much time to read through all the old threads. I also just bought my '13 X5M from BMW this summer so maybe they performed all the recalls? Wishful thinking?

At least they try in the US - here in AU we don't get any of the factory SIB/recalls, even though the vehicles are built in the US.

Injectors DIY-er right here (had an indy shop code them though). Did them about 6 months before the recall. No shit was given by BMW, got denied on any kind of refund.
Also, now we're on our own when it comes to replacing them if they fail prematurely and are disqualified from any kind of future warranty coverage (parts or labor). Ask me how I know... I've been about that 'Fuck BMW' life for a long time. |

Yes I was told by a dealer multiple times the S63 engine does not qualify for the injector recall and they wouldn't even look at it.
When I called BMW last year they told me I can just replace them and they will reimburse if I have a letter now they refuse with some BS. I'm 200 miles from a dealership the cost just to tow there @ $5 a mile is more than getting the injectors myself and replacing them. So sad to hear they are treating so many of us like this .... this company is total garbage. |
