x6M vx Panamera
I have been looking to get x6M but recently saw the new Panamera. What do you guys think of the Porsche? I know different cars but same price range so I wonder if anyone crossshopped the two?

It may be a nice car to drive, but everytime I see a photo showing the side view, I am shocked at how ugly the profile is. It just has a terrible initial impression in my opinion.
On the contrary I get many favorable looks and comments from people who see the oncoming or profile view of the X6. It just has the correct dimensions and body lines that enhance the overall look. I just spent 30 minutes talking to a professional designer who has designed many successful products. He was impressed with the sight of my car sitting at a car show this weekend. This person has several high end vehicles. His one comment though was how ugly the Cayenne was, and that the Porsche stying department was lost when it came to the Panamera exterior design. |

When shopping for a new car I really wanted a Panamera. However, after seeing it in a lot of pictures before making my decision I knew it was too ugly for me. It depends on your age, but if you are under 35 than it is too much of an "old mans" car imo. The X6M is a lot sexier and compared to the Panamera Turbo.
Also when pricing the two cars out the Panamera Turbo (with a few options) came out to about $70,000 more than an X6M in Canada which made the decision much easier. |

Thanks for the replies guys. I actually saw two panameras in person on the strteet and they looked pretty cool. I am not saying I am ready to give up on x6M and also recognize that I was comparing x6M with a non-turbo version of the panamera to be in the same price range. I guess I just need to go and test drive it to see how much faster or slower it feels compared to x6M. I was somewhat shoked by the 5-yr residuals on x6M (29%) and thought that porsche would hold value better (also may not be an accuarate assumption from what I hear)

I was in the same situation untill I went to the Porsche dealer to test drive the Panamera. I drove the 130k (US) Panamera 4S with Sports Exhaust and was not impressed by the power. It drove good, but I am honestly not impressed by it at all. The interior/exterior overall build quality is really good, but the preformance just did not impress. So I ended up with the X6M . No regrets!
