2013 X5 E70 transmission issues….
My tranny needs some work and I live in the Houston area. I have visited MULTIPLE transmission shops and have only found 1 that said they would even look at the issue, but wasn’t sure if they could rebuild it etc. etc.
Anyone in or around Southeast Texas or even central Texas that knows of a reputable shop that would rebuild a 2013 Transmission with the 8HP transmission? Any recommendations would be appreciated. Last edited by HtownBlue; 12-19-2022 at 10:16 PM.. |

I have a clutch shifting issue / slipping issue upon acceleration lower gears. The vehicle has 177K on it as I use it for work. Like the car. Not worth buying a new one to use for work. Already fixed the most common issues. And would prefer the tranny be rebuilt if possible so I don’t have to have the issue pop up again in 25k miles. That’s why. |

Given transmission issues are fairly rare with that transmission, I would suspect a 100K used one where you do a full service on it before install would be less prone to issues that having one rebuilt. |

See if your issue matches the x5 from m539 restoration. The video may give you your solution as well then. If so, this should be work that any competent Bmw (or other manufacturer even since it's a common transmission) independent mechanic can do.
