SOS Error Light Malfunction

Hello. I have a 2007 BMW X5 3.0. I am getting that SOS error light coming on every time I start the car. I believe that is what is giving me a high battery drain. It seems it usually is caused by a faulty satellite radio. I bought a fiber optic loop to plug into the wire after I remove it from the satellite radio to bypass it. I removed the one cargo panel in the trunk and can see the satellite radio. The problem is, the wire I need to access is on the opposite side of the radio. I have to remove that other carpeted side panel to get to it. I can pry about 1/2 the panel off but the front 1/2 seems to be stuck. I assume there are some clips or something that I don't know about and/or cannot see. Does anyone have any experience removing his panel and can provide me with any tips on how to do it?

Thank you much for any help.

Nick
