Dealer said April 2011 onwards (am sure it can sooner as well). Perhaps the 5 seat option is March as well so I can finally get it. This waiting feels like forever, need to get off this forum for a while. WIth BMW apps one can look at facebook, twitter, as well as listen to the web-radio (web radio being the main reason why I took it).

Works for me, took delivery in April 2010. Only able to lock and unlock the doors, and track it position. Would have been nice to be able to start the engine and get it to pick me up!!

you use to be able to have your BMW for 4-5 years and feel like it was still new, now we're lucky if it's 4-5 months.

True that! The biggest joke BMW could pull on me is to have a facelift in September 2011

For some reason I can't find this App in appstore. I only found something called "BMW Connected", which doesn't seem to do the same thing.

at the bottom of the itunes page change your country to United Kingdom, search on "BMW connected", I think you want the one that says "my BMW remote"

create a new bogus login (this is just for this download, not to really purchase anything), pick an address in the UK ( use some well known company, (I use one of our offices address and phone number), you will not need a credit card.

Keep this login as you may need to use it again.

I found one called "BMW Connected" by browsing appStore directly with iPhone (not with iTune).

This one has web radio, twitter, facebook functions, said to be requiring 6NR option.

Am I looking at the right APP?

Or are you guys referring to something else?

MyBWM remote, to do it on the iphone you would have to use a similar procedure as I described in doing it from itunes.

Currently this only works with UK version of BMW assist (as far as I know) or whatever it's called there. The app has a demo on it that shows the type of things it would do if fully functional: show position of your car on map, sound horn, flash headlights, lock/unlock.

Without the "BMW assist" to support it doesn't do anything but gives an idea of what is possible. I sent BMW an email asking when this would be available for the US but as usual no response. I have friends that have American cars that have these functions. These are all possible now on most recent BMWs but only BMW assist can do them.

I downloaded the My BMW REMOTE App for the iphone yesterday.
Had to log in to www.bmwconnecteddrive.co.uk to set up security questions.
When done the app worked flawlessly. GPS location for the vehicle is cool and very accurate. Tested remote lock an unlock facility which operates in less than 30secs of sending the request. I only wish that I could start the aux heater remotely as this would be an absolute KO feature. I have the handheld remote control but that has limited range.

On the whole I am very please with the app

They will not make the start/stop feature for APril 2011 model. I think they will revise the car more in 2012.
