AWD on X6M vs. non-M
Anyone knows the difference, if any, between AWD (xDrive) systems for M and non-M X6?
Bias, quickness, tuning, etc And i'm not talking about rear diff, just x-drive related difference |

Well, it has to have some difference
Per BMW USA: M tuned xDrive all-wheel-drive system http://www.bmwusa.com/standard/conte...s/default.aspx Unfortunatelly, it's not much info |

Ok,
Does the front-end kick-in the same way as on non-M, or it takes longer? Responsiveness is the same? It almost seems like x-drive is kind of slow to react to slippage it takes quite a bit of the rear slip in order for the front to start pulling My Infiniti FX was kind of like that, i hated it P.S. Quattro seems faster in this regard? |

I can only tell you my experience with it on the ice an snow from our latest winter blast. Because the M has so much more power, you can lose the back end a little faster but it seems to recover very well. I dont "feel" the front end grabbing; it just seems to be very smooth in its power adjustment and recovery without much lag or lack of response.
Coincidentally, an X6 5.0 was behind me this morning. He seemed much more cautious around some of the icy turns whereas I did not feel any lack of traction with mine. But dont read too much into this; just an observation |
