Interesting point. If I take it to a leather guy that would certainly be the more affordable way to do it. I've seen the entire leather OEM dash for sale and it's not cheap, not expensive either. Pricing wise I'd way more enjoy the letter dash than say a set of HRE's.
I have a very reputable leather guy locally here and I'll check pricing. Just the labor will be cut in half I'm sure as to do OEM replacement gives me anxiety just by thinking about what's involved!
