Comfort Access mystery?

I have 2013 E70 30d with comfort access option.

My front right door (passenger) can be locked/unlocked with the comfort access door handle with the door open/ajar. On all other doors the lock/unlock feature only works with the door closed.

It is driving me mad that I can't figure it out. I thought it was the door handle, so I swapped in another known working one and it is the same. I switched out the door latch to a new one as I thought it was a bad hall sensor in the door latch. No difference.

Is there something I am missing here? A bad computer module? A coding option?

Does the car realize the door is open at all? If you try to drive away with the door open does it warn you?

Interesting..I checked mine and CA does not allow lock through the handle with the door open. This is the same for all doors. It could be a coded option...and maybe yours was coded for LHD?

Yes the door ajar warning works.

I might be imagining this, but it seems like the left rear door has the same issue.

Maybe the wiring for the Comfort Access has a short between two wires? or two wires are switched? So it believes the front right door handle is the left rear and vice versa?

Both the front right and left rear does this when it is able to lock/unlock with the door open/ajar.

It doesn't matter which other doors are closed or open.

No error codes.

Maybe I need an exorcist to get the little gremlins out of the car. Haha
