New battery

My car needs a new battery and I was wondering if theirs an aftermarket battery that's just as good as the oem or better

In order to select the right battery, you only need to know 3 things:
1. Size
2. Type: must be AGM, and
3. Amp Hour rating value (aka Ah, but most battery manufacturers do not put this value on the battery because people buy based on CCA values. You can always calculate it ... LOL).

The fun comes in when you have to register the battery to the car ...

I changed the battery on my previous X5 myself dealer wanted circa £500 to supply, install and code a battery!

I got a 90 Amp Exide AGM battery for around £180 from a local supplier, fitted it myself and then got a BMW coder I know to code it in for £60 (BMW charge £120).

It is really simple to do, just check which Amp battery you currently have as depending on option it could be circa 100 Amp...

It's still cheaper overall to buy the battery aftermarket and have dealer code it.

For my M3 it's still a $400-$500 affair
