thanks man, i will give it a try when i go home later. I wanted just to get the fields and sky but i couldnt. thats the view from the highway when i go home form work. i parked the car, turned on the hazard lights and took the pic. i couldnt resist

We're you using ai-servo?
Might we worth a shot. Though depends which body you're using. I did it works a lot better and faster on the 7D then it does on the 5DmkII. I don't remember what body you're using however.

shot that with servo on the 1DiiN. if i weren't shooting at f/2 at 85mm it wouldn't be a problem. when he's running, the DOF is so thin at that aperture I can't really expect the servo to keep up, especially since he's so small.

not to mention running towards you does make it harder too.

Definitely a good attempt though.

Getting the eyes in focus was all you needed and you nailed it. It's funny how you can have almost everything in an image OOF, but get the eyes in focus and you're ok.

actually the focal point is at the top of the head, so the eyes are barely out. i did a little sharpening to bring them back in.
