Catted Vs Non-catted down pipe (M57)

Hey guys, new to the community here. I’ve recently purchased a pretty clean 2011 x5 with the m57 diesel engine. I knew buying the car I was going to have some issues related to the dpf/scr system and it didn’t take long. I’ve decided to do all the preventative “upgrades” since it seems like the best route. However I can’t find anyone’s opinion on catted downpipes for the m57. All the post I see are related to gas engines. This car is primarily used by my wife, I’m not looking for huge power gains. More less just want it to sound practical and improve long term reliability. If anyone has any experience or advice for me here it would be appreciated.

You want it preferably right after the turbo. The hotter it gets the better it’ll work. Wrap it with a quality heat wrap to improve the performance, especially if you go with one not on the downpipe.

I just ordered an ATM catted downpipe. Seems like a nice piece, but I have yet to install it. I did an unboxing thread here: https://www.xbimmers.com/forums/show....php?t=2089510

The VRSF catted down pipe, mid pipe combo is what I decided to get. They haven’t sent me a shipping confirmation yet.

When I inquired, they were not expecting they to arrive until May...
VRSF also wouldn't tell me where they were manufactured, so I have to assume China.
ATM is in stock and manufactured in the USA and uses a real DOC as opposed to a gasoline catalytic converter on the VRSF.

I was trying to be as cost effective as possible, but after considering how long I plan to keep this car it just doesn’t pay off being cheap. I canceled my order through VSRF and went with the ATM set up instead. I also got the EGR block off plate and a swirl flap delete.
I plan on doing this job myself, I’ve been working in the heavy duty diesel industry for 5+ years now. I saw on another thread someone said to get the OEM turbo clamp and a new OEM passenger side motor mount. Any other suggestions as far as parts/hardware go to do this job?

Fully delete the egr. You don’t want to have issues later when it starts leaking coolant, plus makes it easier to do maintenance on the front of the engine
