N55 EWG Wastegate Adjustment?

I know that ISTA can walk you through the process of adjusting the wastegate but I was wondering if anyone here who has done it can help answer a question before I fully put the car back together: What has to come out in order to get to the adjustment bolt? Or can I reach down there with the car fully assembled?

What's off the car currently? You can reach it from the top if you have small hands, but you'll have very little visibility. Its a lot easier to remove the downpipe and access it from the bottom.

Currently off the car:
- downpipe
- passenger rear engine mount
- coolant expansion tank
- inlet pipe
- boost pipe

I think I'm gonna try to get it as accurate as possible (I'm replacing my wastegate actuator itself) and see where it gets me

You should have plenty of room as it is now. It's going to be tough to get it exactly at 0.00. Ista and all of the scan tools i've used stop giving a measurement once you're within 0.5 and just says that no adjustment is needed. Get it to about 0.56 mm and go an additional 3/4 turn. That should put you very close to 0.00

ISTA tells me I’m at -1.42 mm - which direction should I move it and approximately how many turns?

This post has instructions https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1820602,

Each Full turn is .75 MM. If its (-) you want to move it towards the front of the car. If its (+) towards the back. you want to loosen the nut closest to the front of the car first, then tighten the other nut almost 2 full turns(1.42/.75 = 1.89 turns) and then tighten the first nut to lock it in place.

ISTA should show you a live adjustment and tell you exactly when to stop.
