What Wheel is This?

Does anyone know what wheel this is? In other words, what is it called so I can shop for it?

Well I went ahead and did some quick research and discovered that the wheels are BMW's 336 type. I found a seller on eBay that will ship me a set of 4 for the X6 for $850 (shipped).

Yes; they're replicas that are made in China. I don't have potholes where I drive and I rarely drive over 80mph. Is there any good reason why I shouldn't put these on my ActiveHybrid? I really hate the OEM wheels that come on this car.

I will be using these with runflats. Comments, warnings, etc are welcome!

Thanks!

I would be a bit wary of putting very cheap replicas on due to possible strength issues. ...just my 2 cents worth.

Thats a great price! I have read that people are wary of non original BMW parts but I haven't seen any hard evidence that might pose a danger. Price is tempting. I'm looking for 214s. I wish they made them in 19".

What the heck, I went ahead and ordered them. The company has 100% positive feedback on eBay. I hope the quality of the rim is comparable to the quality of the seller. I did notice that the buyers have all sorts of high-end luxury vehicles.

I agree. I think the $850 price, including shipping, was great. The best price I saw on eBay for a new set of OEM 336 was just under $3k, shipped. I figured that for the price difference of about $2,150, I could theoretically buy 10 additional replacement rims if I damaged the first set... or fewer, once shipping is factored in. But I don't see myself damaging that many rims.

There was a member here back in February (before I purchased my X6) who was willing to sell a new OEM set for $1,500. I would have definitely jumped all over that one. Oh well

I'll post pics once I have them on.

Hey, that's great to hear! My set comes in on Tuesday. I'll have to wait until the weekend to get them installed. Do you have any pictures of your X6 with those rims mounted?

BTW, how do the rears fit in relation to the fender? Just like the OEMs you took off or do they stick out a little further? I was hoping for the latter.

Thanks!

These are Style 375. OEM makes em only in 21". The drawback with 21", for the profile and width, there is only 1 (ONE!!!) tire that can fit it- which is the Dunlop. 21s are a bit too much, as depending on road conditions, can get a little bumpy. Ebay sells 20" replicas. I suggest go for them, as they provide you many more options when it comes to tires.
Good luck!

Did you even look at the picture?
That wheel is wearing Bridgestone 20'' tire
However:
Problem with replicas is that it's not always perfect manufacture quality.
I bought wheels for my winter setup and they do have the slightest vibration
Where stock is just perfect no mater what speed you go.
I had simillar issue with M6 reps on my 335i
Even brand new reps were somewhat shaky

I believe the subject wheels are style 336; not 375 as you stated in your post. 375s are a different wheel.

So far all 336 replicas I've seen on ebay or elsewhere deviate from the OEM design - primarily, the uneven gap in spokes. May be ok from a distance, but up close one can easily spot the difference... if it matters to you, of course.

I hope the wheels are the same wheels in the auction photo. They don't seem to differ significantly from the OEM wheel, except, maybe the shade of grey used on the replica might be a little darker. It's difficult to tell from a photo.

I think I'll be fine with it.

quality is tough to judge from finish. In the case of a rim, construction becomes more important to judge "quality". For your sake, I hope they don't crack etc. with the weight of the vehicle.

Arent replicas all 74.1 diameter hole as oppose to different rear as per X6 OEM?

How will spacers and slight shimmy (replicas do have this issue, especially with cheaper brand tyres) affect the car?

I did see the picture....

AndreyATC- I surely did carefully see the picture and commented accordingly. To reiterate and elucidate, for the benefit of anyone who is confused with my message, here goes:

This style of rim is called #375.
BMW OEM (Original BMW rim) ONLY comes in 21", which suggests that the rim in this thread is NOT an OEM. In other words, it is a replica. For further knowledge, I had mentioned that these rims are easily available on ebay in 20" also. Between the two sizes, I definitely recommend a 20" replica if driving conditions are not too bad, for the only reason that in case of tire rips/tears there are many brands which make this size. If driving conditions are bad then better to avoid as it may bend a replica rim more easily than an OEM.
However for 21" OEMs or 21" replicas, there is only one tire available.

Thanks

Here is a picture of my 2012 X6 50xi, with the OEM 336 wheels (20") that came standard on this year and model. Please note that they are not fakes nor replicas.

But the wheel pictured is a 336 and is a 20" OEM wheel (also apparently available aftermarket).

You are correct however that the 375 is only avail in 21" OEM (not sure about aftermarket), but it is a different wheel. A picture of it is attached.

Hear the cricket chirping? Duh!

To Carlos50, yes the rears do require a small spacer. I have not mounted my wheels yet, so I do not know yet if there will be a noticable effect.
