Once the CA submits the order, can we make any changes or is that it?

With ED, the order was placed, but it took a bit to get a Production number. I could change my order until the production number was established.

Anyone know?
Thanks,

You can make changes in the early stages after you place your order. I have made a few myself. (added tech pkg, waffled on running boards yes-no-yes, and added the White nappa contour seats) Even after you receive a production number you can make changes up until your scheduled build week. I was told that making a change in the week before the order build date starts *could* move your production date. Only after your X6 receives a VIN number is it set.

Are you leasing or Financing? If Leasing... when you made changes, how did you adjust you lease payment? Did you just contact you dealer?

Thanks

Did you realize that if you scroll over your video, you can change the color of the car as the video rolls? it went from MidNight Blue to Vermilion Red to Alpine White.... very cool.. I hope the colors are accurate (smile)...

Yes I know about the color change. The change betweeen Midnight Blue and Deep Sea Blue look very subtle. And you can change the wheels in mid video too.

I am purchasing mine and always check with my dealer to determine how it will affect my invoice price before we make changes. I've got my price based on a fixed price over invoice so each addition is added at invoice costs. I do not know how it affects the lease agreement. All I can say is negotiate. Good luck.

I can barely see any difference between Midnight Blue and Deep Sea-- makes me thing the video is Deep Sea frankly..

It is very suble, but it changes. The last sequence up close you can see the 'teal' sheen to the midnight blue. I am dying to see it on my car. It is reportedly going into production, week 19, first full week in May. Not confirmed. The wait is torture.

Was talking to a friend of mine, who has the HUD. He said it kind of hard to see when you have polarized sunglasses on. Can anyone confirm this?

Running boards are a must if you are short (my wife is 5' 2" and hates getting in and out of my X6 due to lack of running boards). Making matters worse, this vehicle has no passenger or driver grab handle (one of my top 10 issues with the truck).

However if you are tall then you DON'T want the running boards because you will rub your leg on them getting in and out of the vehicle and if you live in a crappy climate, your pants will be in bad shape by the time you get to work The X6 does however look sweet with them.

Confirmed.
Running boards were first a yes because they look good. I am a 5'7" female. When we found a test drive X6 I noted the issue of rubbing my leg on them getting out. And when I tried to use them, I hit my head on the car. So I took running boards off of my order, but I could not let it go. I went back later and got in and out of an X5 without the running boards,(no x6 to be found) and also found a review that mentioned the sill sticking out on an X6 without running boards and the reviewer noted the sill rubbed his pants getting in and out. So, all in all, I don't think the running board adds a whole lot of width to the sill. An inch or less maybe. So, I added them back to my build. I will learn how to get in and out of my X6!

Loving it in anticipation.

Mid Night Blue (?)

I just got the swatch from the dealer, Midnight Blue Swatch looks nothing like the pictures in the catalogue (see attached picture). The Swatch almost looks black! In the new 2013 X6 pdf catalogue (pg 50) the Midnight blue has a tinge of green in it. I can believe BMW would post a color in the catalogue that is so drastically off. I will post a picture of the swatches with the Oyester, Beige and Saddle combination tomorrow when there is sunlight.

Looking forward to seeing a picture of the swatch in various lighting. I am not opposed to the car being a bit darker than the catalog. I know what I think or hope that it will look like. I am still very excited about the color even if it is as dark as the Monaco Blue that was a 2012 option which was my original choice. I hope that the color and the metalics in it will have a lot of depth and change in different lighting.

Swatches

Caveat:

The Swatch is the wrong MidNight Blue! It is from the 2008 6 series, Labeled "ZE5." The Midnight Blue in the x6 catalogue is "B38." The Saddle matches - "LUD3"

I do not know why BMW would have a different Shade for the same name... call it something different (Smile).. unless the swatch is correct and the slight green tinge we see on page 50 in the catalogue doesn't exist. I like Monaco Blue, but I think i like Deep Sea more than the Monaco though... hmmm

Best picture I found was here:
http://www.dealercarlot.com/usedcars...ors/index.html
Scroll over Midnight Blue.. that is different from the catalogue as well. Saw 4 X6's yesterday in Brooklyn: 2 White, 1 Space Grey, 1 Black.

Ha! The combo looks clean Doug. I think I am going to do Midnight and Saddle for 3 reasons:
1) I have not seen the combo, so its unique. I like Unique.
2) The inside/outside matching conversation probably is more relevant for the convertible. We like how the brown looks on the inside and it won't get as dirty.
3) I have slight regrets for not going with Saddle on the Platinum Vert.

That being said, I do reserve the right to change my mind...over the next week (smile)
On the outside- I just wish I could get a good look at the color. I will probably just stay with Midnight and cross my fingers.

I think your color combo will be nice. Saddle is a color that will continue to be popular and is still new and 'high-end".

I took a look at your German delivery photos. It looked like a great trip! I want to see a garage photo of your Midnight Blue X6 and the 328ci.

My husband drives the Space Gray 335is(c) with Oyster interior. He did not have this kind of wait(torture). He found his car here in the US at a dealer. I can't wait to get my Midnight Blue 35i baby beside of it!

Hey your interior is Beige? I thought it was Ivory for some reason. I will post that swatch when it is sunny out. CA just told me that AS only comes with a package... Any way (source) I can use to dispute this. I mean, he is putting in the order...

Thanks,

Thanks,
bmwusa.com will let you configure it without the package. Point him there.

The fine print at the bottom says:
"This is a special option requiring special consideration. Please discuss your customized build with your preferred BMW dealer. We will be happy to build it exactly the way you’d like it."

Smile- I did discuss and it is part of a Dynamic Package. Not a deal breaker for me anyway. Midnight Blue and Saddle. Fingers crossed!
