Spare Tire Option on a 50i E70?

I just picked up a 2011 CPO 50i X5. There's no spare tire or jack and BMW is telling me this was an added option. Everything I can find shows that US models come with a spare from the factory. Can anyone confirm for sure if the spare was a standard option or something that had to be added for an additional cost.

Thanks!

FWIW -- spare tire wasn't standard on my '13 50 -- not sure if it was different in '11.

I don't believe spare kits were standard if your X came with run flat tires or third row option.

i have a '11 X5 d and I got the 3rd row. With the 3rd row you lose the spare tire and gain some storage space. I have the run flats.

It's an option if you don't have the 3rd row as previously stated. If you want to retrofit it: http://www.getbmwparts.com/partlocat...catalogid=4462
