''PARKING BRAKE malfunction'' after BRAKE JOB!
Alright I recently did the front brake pads and sensor on my 08 E70 X5 3.0. Did the work myself and ordered the parts online. The entire job was super easy and took no longer than 1hr including bleeding both sides. The brake pads replacement DUE warning light was reset and perfect, clear of error messages. But the next morning when driving it to work the ''yellow PARK'' came on and a message on the screen saying E-BRAKE Malfunction.... what could've happened?

I had this happen to me, but it was random; not after any work done. Anyway, open the trunk, there's a vertical panel on the left. Open that, look around for a wire "hook". Throw a screwdriver into the hook/loop and pull up with quite a bit of force. You will here and feel a jerk, which is the parking brake manually releasing. You can now drive your car although you'll be unable to use the parking brake. Side note, my parking brake fixed itself later in the day (super weird), but if yours doesn't, just take it to get reset. Hope this helps
EDIT: I'm not sure if you actually need help with releasing the brake so you can drive it; I just assumed that's what you wanted. As for why it happened, I really don't know |

THANKS...
Mine actually drives fine still, I can even engage the E-Brake when I park the car, but when I drive and release the E-Brake the YELLOW park light comes on. Also the ''AUTO-HOLD" wont work when this light is on.
