Is the leather Dash option worth the extra money?
I know having it will be nice. But thinking objectively and relative to the cost, is the Leather Dash option worth the extra money?

Depends on the color. Black, no. Beige, maybe. The stitchings are very nice with lighter color leather. I wished I could have leather dash, but the car was already on the boat when I ordered it in order to beat the wait.

I totally think it's worth it. It looks beautiful, smells great. I have had leather dash on my Porsche GTS and ordered it on the X6. Makes interior looks great

It will def make the interior much nicer. I was going to do the Chateau int with the leather dash. but realized by adding the black nappa leather optioned already included the leather dash. so that's what I did. the dash only option is $1900 and doing the full nappa w/ leather dash is $2400. When I was originally pricing the vehicle I thought the nappa seating $2400 option was in addition to the dash. check it out.

Even in black the leather dash looks amazing. It makes the car look much more elegant and complete. After having it on my X6M I will make sure all my future cars have a leather dash. I absolutely love it!

When you order the leather dash option, it is actually the FULL LEATHER option. This means that the dash is leather, but also, the top and bottom of the door panels are leather. They also cover the back of the front seats in leather. If you get black interior it is not very noticeable in pictures, but any other color interior really shows up the difference of the full leather package.
You can find pictures of X6 with the full leather option and compare them to pictures without. They do an excellent job of covering these items. The dash is a large item to look at, and with the leather, it has rounded edges, and looks thicker. On the X6M, when you are spending that kind of money, it elevates the interior to the luxury feel and look you would expect. The large amount of plastic otherwise does just the opposite in my opinion. COMPARE WITH THESE PICTURES: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BMW-X...item27b0cc2d17 Last edited by LANDLORD; 04-10-2010 at 01:14 PM.. |

Thanks for posting the beautiful pics. i just checked the option on the BMW site and there are two options: 1. SM04M5 - Instrument panel Leather, and 2. S0XT1 - Leather Instrument panel, BMW Individual I think you are refering to option 2 S0XT1 which also forces you to choose one of the BMW Individual leather options so the difference in price is very big. Its very nice of course. though i was referring to option 1 which is the leather Dash only. |
