Interesting "Spare tire" solution

So here's an interesting twist on the usual theme of packing around a can of fix-a-flat.

My neighbor is a tech at a local Ford dealership and ended up with an extra one of these in his leftover parts bin. It's a 12v compressor with a replaceable can of sealant designed for rigs that don't come with spares such as some Mustang, Flex and a few hybrid models. The kit sells for $277 new - probably a fraction of that used on eBay.

Fits perfectly in the underfloor storage compartment behind my third-row seats. Took a pic of the part # too in case anyone's interested in tracking one down for their own rig.

Thats a pretty nifty idea!

Here are a few, much cheaper, options.

Looks like it would fit better in the narrow gap closer to the seats and leave the large storage to something else rather than being taken up by this small item.

I have my compressor and other tire-related stuff in the compartment on left side.

yeah, I was hoping it'd fit there too but not quite. another kind of cool thing is that the vinyl case fits super snug and has an adjustable Velcro strap so it can be attached to something else too if need be.

Another friend just asked if the compressor can be used separate from the can of flat-fix, for example if I were out in the woods somewhere and needed to put some air in my mountain bike tires. I'll have to look into that too because I'm not sure.

My 2000 M Roadster and 2007 M6 both came with the M Mobility system, since neither had runflats or a spare. I used it several times without the fix-a-flat canister. Best to avoid the goop anyway, unless you have no other option.
