Downpipes install - what else to replace?
Installing DP soon on a '13 X5 M, "while I am in there" what else should I replace preventively?

https://www.xbimmers.com/forums/show....php?t=1537226 I suggest getting rid of the stock heat shields and getting a turbo blanket and wrapping your downpipes. I went with a ptp and am able to put my hand on top of the turbos after driving it. Huge change in underhood temps. If you mean while you have stuff out, what to replace, you shouldn't have to replace anything. You'll have much easier access to everything with the heat shields off of the turbo, exhaust and if you have custom or RK intakes, you have access to most everything in case something comes up. There won't be as much underhood heat so that should help with things going bad as well. |

Yes on the blankets. 1000%.
I prefer over regular wraps for pipes, just get the pipes sent out to be ceramic coated. Your local powdercoater often offers a similar service, or you send it out to JetHot or similar. All new gaskets, fire ring, vband, etc.. |
