K&N Air Filter?
Planning to change the air filter of my X6 35i to
K&N Drop in filters. Are there any real difference in performance? I've read it increases throttle response, is that true? Thanks |

no air filter will add any real difference, I have K/N in mine due to the fact the factory one was dirty and they told me it wasn't due for a change.

K and N filters are snake oil.
They made their name before the internet came around to expose them. They just don't work their magic on modern engines. Save your money. Cites: http://www.nicoclub.com/archives/kn-vs-oem-filter.html http://www.svtperformance.com/forums...nt-Filter-Test

Another thing to be careful of any "wet" air-filter is once you clean it, make sure only use enough oil. I've seen so many instances MAF gets killed by excessive oil.
BTW, I used K&N chemical once to clean the air-filter and spray some on concrete driveway, well it eats some of the concrete, so it's very strong chemical, so I go back to "dry" air filter now. |
