2005 X-5 Heater-A/C Blower
My blower is making an annoying squeeking sound (not my wife) at low speeds 1-4 bars on display) and changes pitch with gyroscopic motion. What's involved with either lubbing it ( is suspect some WD-40 on the bearing would fix it for a while) or replacing it (how many chuncks of $500) are involved with dealer. Thanks, DWG

My 2001 does the same thing. It's a tiny fan in the dash in the vent work that's making the sound, not the blower. Mine only does it in the winter. The dealer wanted something ridiculous to fix it. I asked what would happen if it stopped turning and they said 'nothing', so I'm dealing with it.

Fan
CARMAX extended warenty said they would cover it. I'll make sure there is no confusion between coverage for blower versus fan. All I kow it's whatever the little bars on the console that light up when air is coming out of vents. Thanks for the response.
