Anyone with X5 M / X5 M package with mudflaps?

Hey guys, first ever post.

Taking delivery on Monday of a Space Grey X5 M, executive, full merino, comfort seats, Dinan tuned, I'm jacked!

Reading other forums about rock chips/sandblasting to the rockers.

As I live in Alberta, we sand the roads, and 3M goes on at delivery.

It pains me to say I have purchased some Rally Armor universal mudflaps - black with grey logo, and have seen the OEM- both look fugly IMHO.

I likely will install the Rally Armor with the 3M, as I don't want to repaint the truck in one year.

Has anyone installed this on an X5 before??

Any other mudflaps our there?

Any thoughts appreciated!!

Pics to follow next week

Hey northern2020,

I 3M'd the entire side of the vehicle up to the side door molding and up over the wheel flares. So far everything has held up really good.

Where in Alberta are you? I'm in Edmonton. Love the space grey, it was my second choice after Monte Carlo Blue.

Northern X5M, I would like to see pictures of your vehicle where you install 3M films. I am getting an X5M as well and I live in Calgary.

Hey!

I'm in Edmonton too.

Where to you get your M? Bavaria or Edm BMW?

Who did your 3M? Was it 8 mil thick?

How long have you had your truck?

How do you like the M?? Can't wait to get it. Traded my Q7 in for it.

Sure. Factory 3M does not cover all problem areas.

Getting done privately....

Got mine at Bavaria, I've had it since June.

First I got the standard 3M package done at European Auto Tinting in Edmonton. They did the front end, hood, head lights mirrors and lower rockers, got them to tint the windows at the same time. They wouldn't do everything I asked because it involved custom cutting on the vehicle. So I took it back to the dealer and they did the sides up to the door molding and over the wheel flares.

I love the M, after 7 months it still puts a smile on my face every time I get in.

Have you been driving it heavily this winter?

Have you gotten up close and checked the 3M in front of the rear doors?

If you can let me know how it's holding up back there, I would appreciate it.

It would help me decide if I want to install the mud flaps or not.

Any mods yet??

I put about 100km/week on it right now. I will check the rear area to see how it is holding up. Mods in the spring.

I read a post earlier of yours that you did not have to pay extra for comfort seats instead of M seats?

Are M seats standard or a extra expense over stock seats?

I had to pay extra for the
Seats and a special order fee!

No, I just have whatever seats the M came with. I wanted the ventilated comfort seat but not on the option list for Canada.
