Favorite and least favorite option?

What's one X5 option that is a must have, and one that you could have done without?

Top of the list - Multicontour Seats, Parking Sensor & 360' camera, Heated seats, 20" wheels, panaramic roof (especialy with dark interior)

Bottom of the list - 3rd row seats, comfort access, integrated smart phone (does little beyond iphone connection in consul but add external anntena), running boards (horrible to use, but does shield paint from rocks)

I like also the parking sensors/360 camera system, 20" wheels and sunroof and I can't live without comfort access (hate the price though!). I-drive I like and Nav works well for me, love the connected stuff, especially emailing the car!

3rd row seats are very small, but work well for the kids that are there sometimes. Trailer hitch is also a rip off!

Love... HUD, multi contour seats, 360* camera, heated steering wheel, rear seat entertainment, having a real dipstick.

Could live without... power tailgate, ski bag.

Comfort seats and heated seats are definitely at the top of my list.

Backup Camera is also pretty nice.

These are options that I think are worthless (which I did not get)...
Rear Climate - a good tint job is more worth it to me...
3rd row
rear entertainment

Just ordered my X5, so opinions are based on test drives and research. Much of my opinion is also based on value, ie: not only how nice is the option, but how much do you get for your $$$.

Favorite:
  • 35i N55 engine! Coupled with the 8-speed, this makes the car! Hands down winner over the diesel for the type of driving I do, and value wise, way ahead of the 50i.
  • Multi-contour seats. Only o.k. value, but base seats are pretty weak. And since I'm not ordering the convenience package, I wouldn't be getting lumbar support on the base seats...
  • Spare Tire. $150 if ordered with car, double or triple afterwords. I hate relying on RFT's.
  • Heated Seats. In Colorado? Of course!
  • Comfort Access. $1,000 is way overpriced, so lousy value, but after living with this feature for the past 6 years in my Touareg, I really didn't want to give it up.

Least Favorite:
  • Convenience Package. This package is significantly different on different models, but on the 35i Premium, it is $2,750 for some options with pretty marginal value like power tailgate, upgraded rear view mirror, BMW assist, etc. Very poor value. The only thing I really will miss out of the package is folding mirrors.
  • Technology Package. Basically Navigation plus rear camera and parking sensors for $1,000 more than Navigation alone. Not a great deal, but the killer is Tech package requires Convenience package, dealbreaker for me.
  • Running boards. I'd pay extra not to have them...

Favorite option:
Pretty much everything, but the HUD and comfort seats are the most appreciated.

Least favorite:
Even though I like the looks of the M Sport package and the M steering wheel, I miss the lack of a heated wheel. Even my Z4 has that.

Not an option: but the only dislike is the MPG.
