Okay... so I'm a dumba**

Had my windows tinted at Noon and accidentally rolled my window down! Ugh. Right in front of the installer too - don't ask. Anyway he said it should be fine but now I'm thinking I effed it up.

Anyone else have a brain fart and do this? Are your windows okay? Please say yes.

And, should I go blast the heat up in my car for 30 minutes to help seal it? I live in California but it's not really hot here right now. Thoughts?

Thanks man. It's just that my window has a few little bubbles in it (probably water bubbles) and will most likely be gone in a couple days but still. I'm such a dum dum!

btw, installer does all the cars at my BMW dealership so I know he's good and uses quality product.

I wouldn't touch it. Small bubbles are okay for max a couple days.

At least in DE. All tint (at most places) comes with a warranty for life against bubbles pealing and cracking. Wonderful peace of mind.

If somethings wrong take it back and make them do it again. But you should be okay. I rolled my down to pay for a car wash an hour after I got mine. No worries. We all forget.

Thanks guys. Bubbles still there this morning. Will wait a few more days and see what happens.

A friend rolled down the window a day after I received my X5... I was not happy. I saw a lot of small bubbles. Waited another day or two and it cleared up.

Question. When they tinted the windows, did they remove your door panels/windows to do it, or were they able to tint them without removing them. There is a place here in San Jose that gets great reviews, but it concerns me that they remove the door panels. They claim that they get a better tint job by removing the windows to tint them......I surely am not letting anyone do this on my car. Just want to make sure you can get a decent tint job without doing this....Thanks!

I'm not sure. I had it tinted at BMW from the guy that does all their cars. I have heard of this being done though. I would ask how many BMW's they do. GL!

Sorry to hear that. If you really want tint, I'd look at it this way:
Is the window you rolled down worse that others? If not, they should fix all of them for free. If so, just get the one fixed at your cost.

Ironically, it's the ones that weren't rolled down that are the worst. Just taking it all off. Wish I could post pics but I can't get good photos.

Thanks for the advice - appreciate it.

I'm not understanding this. If it looks bad, how are you out $250 bucks ? Have them make it right ! I've been going to the same place for over a decade. I don't go around shopping prices.

Yeah how are you out 250? As I said all place I know offer lifetime against crack/peeling/bubbling and will replace for free. Especially if you just had it done?!

I would be nice to them and not yell and scream to get your money back.
"Guys, I still have too many bubbles, can you redo them and make it right?"
If they say no, then ask for your money back.

Gonna try to get my money back. Don't want this guy to tint it again. If he didn't do it right the first time then he's not gonna get it right the second or third time. I don't have the time to go back and forth. Waiting for a call back.

Thanks all.
