Need imput on buying a X5

My buddy is going to the mainland to buy an 09 oil burner anything to look for. It has only 25K miles..What options are a must have keeping in mind he
has two small kids He wants me to go along as I have been a bimmerfile for 30 years , except having never owned a X5 , I would welcome input from current owners thanks

I assume by oil burner u mean a 4.8.
Personally I wouldn't touch a 4.8.
A 35xdrive is better in gas, faster, lighter, and has less issues.
I know 4.8 are going for cheap but with the problems I've read it's not worth the savings

What problems ? 35's aren't the most reliable either with the forced induction to worry about.
