X6 M Transmission Jerk

Hi guys, r any of u experiencing transmission jerk problems in Manual mode form 1st to 2nd gear. I am talking about a violent jerk almost like SMG sort of violent??? I dont feel it in other gears, only from 1st to 2nd... It doesnt happen always, but i felt it a couple of times. Once in full throttle application, the other half throttle application, please advise...

once at just before redlining, and immediately shifting. the 2nd time, was around 4,500rpm with half throttle... i didnt hear any clunking sound, just felt as though it was an SMG shifting, as though it was confused weather to shift, or reapply the spark to provide the power. on the x6m, in manual mode, the torque conv is locked, and the engine cuts the spark and fuel momentarily to reduce torque for the shift.

U should demonstrate the problem w/ a SA to see if there's a glitch in the shift program or a mechanical problem.
According to torque/power chart for n54 engine, there's not much to gain beyond 3750 rpm as torque begins to fall off @ about 4700rpm.
See if someone in the forum or bmw service dept. has the same chart for ur engine to see whether its worth pushing the engine to 4500 rpm or beyond. Otherwise I think u r just putting more wear & tear on it for no gain in acceleration.

Hey I am pretty sure I know what you are talking about. Its not the tranny. It has happened to me a few times also when my car was brand new. What happens is through 1 gear in "M" Manual mode while shifting, you have to be sure to shift as soon as the first bar on the heads-up display is appears. It red lines a lot faster then you would anticipate, therefore seeming like it is shifting awkwardly. When I first had it and was getting on it, it would do this. Now that I have a few thousand miles on it and realized how fast it revs I haven't had this problem acure.

Hope this is helpful. With all that said I need a re-flash and tune ASAP! M-Fest in Vegas is April 16th through the 18th. I need some direction on where to take my $100,000 SAC!! lol! HELP, HELP!

If things get worse for you contact these guys. They helped me out with my M5 when I had transmission issues.
