Change Air filters
What's the consensus on removing the charcoal filters (not cabin filter)
on X5M? Also, are K&N's or BMC filters a worthwhile mod? Will any of the above result in a code or CEL? |

I'd love to hear the answer to this as well. Also, is it worth re-tuning?

Definitely remove the charcoal filters if your car has them. They are right behind the regular intake filters so it's super easy to remove. Turns out mine didn't have them so the only way to know for sure is to look. I would go with BMC over K&N personally, which I did on my X5M. K&N does not have the best filtration rate and they over oil the heck out of their filters. There will be no check engine lights and there is no need to re-tune.
I ordered the BMC ones directly from their website and received it in one weeks time. Italy to Hawaii. |
