Buying a high-mileage X5M this week

Hi all.

I found my dream car. She's waiting for me and I am hopefully going to have her in my garage on Wednesday. But I wanted to see if anyone thinks i'm too brave for getting her. It's a 2-owner 2011 X5M Melbourne Red w/ 67,000 miles going for $29k. First owner was a corporate car, second owner was personal, both in the same area (possibly same owner?). Carfax does not show anything out the ordinary. No warranty.

The other option was a 2012 650i coupe w/ 39,000 miles for <33k. Luxury package, cold weather, premium audio, NO M-SPORT -- It has a transferable aftermarket warranty from a Porsche dealership (he is the second owner, bought it from Porsche used car department).

I'm getting a PPI done on tuesday on the X5M. The longest i've kept a car was 1.5 years, so I dont suspect I will keep this car for more than a year. Let's just hope nothing crazy happens within the year! Is there anything specific I should ask BMW to do for the PPI (I will verify the S63 campaign injector replacements were performed and the fuel-pump recall).

Do I get the X or the 6? Assuming nothing else matters but making an intelligent decision for a car that should last a year before it's sold again.

I have a 2012 just over 60k miles now. BMW has replaced a vanos solenoid, high pressure fuel pump, and the injectors/plugs have been replaced twice due to the injectors leaking. I imagine that the cooling system is next between 70-100k miles. I'm sure you'll spend some money even in 18mo ownership. I'd do it though...X5M is awesome!

2011 BMW X5  [10.00]
u should be fine, great color and price

and btw I don't think that 67K miles for 2011 X5M is that high of a mileage, I have just under 62K on 2013
