Spacers on the front, not a topic repeat. Opinions wanted...

Hello,

I understand there are tons of topics concerning spacers and such.

I was hoping to keep the geometry identical to the factory on my 2012 x5 35d with sport package and 20's. Therefore, ive ordered 17.5mm for front and back as i found pictures of the 15mm and 20mm on the back and believe right in between is perfect for my tastes.

Now the front is very difficult, as its near impossible to find pictures of front tires with spacers as everyone always takes images of the rear. as i mentioned, ideally, keeping the geometry identical should be about the best. But it may look funny with 17.5mm spacers on the front...

I would luv to get the feel for a car with 20-22inch rims up front and 10-20mm spacers.

I still have the chance in the next two days to change the order,

Please chime in and give ur opinion on the fronts and please if u know of pictures for the front please post them.

Greatly appreciate your time,

cheers,

I have 16mm spacers on the front and they just meet the fenders. I have an M though.

Thanks buddy,

I talked to hamann and they suggested a max of 12.5mm on the front and 30mm on the back.

I dont like the look of the 20mm or even the 30mm, too much in my opinion. So i went with 17.5mm on the back and 10mm for the front. Kinda the in between look,

For sure though i think the stock setup with 20's is pushed in too much and needs spacers to make it look right.

thanks for the feedback,

Thanks a bunch! This helps a lot. I believe the +40 front/+35 rear is the same offset as the 20" M-Sport wheels on my X5 3.5i. How much were the X6M-style wheels? Also, do you have the M-Sport front fender flares, or just the rear?

Yes the offsets and widths are the same as the 20's just slightly wider tires than the 20's.

They were 2,550 with Tires and TPMS shipped inside the US.

And yep, it has the front and rear flared fenders.

Hey Skunk, how are those wheels holding up in the NY weather? I'm looking to get a set within the next couple of weeks, and wanted some insight on the quality of the wheel.

Zero problems with the quality of the wheel. Can't beat them for the price I'd buy them again if I had to do it all over again for sure.

I do not mean to hijack this thread, but the topic seems to be relevant to the information I am after and hope someone can help me. I have a 2008 4.8i model with 18" rims on it. Looking to go to 20" staggered (245 front and 275 rears). My question is: will I need spacers or is it safe to just get the wheels and install them. Buying wheels used, but in good shape. The wheels are coming of from Range Rover HSE. Thanks in advance.

What's the offset of the wheels?

Skunk, thanks for the insight man. I picked them up today. Getting my X lowered on Friday, along with front/rear spacers and my painted reflectors from IND. Now I need to find an X5M gauge cluster and some OEM Carbon Leather trim.

So, they are 20'' Niche F16 wheels: 245/45 fronts and 275/40 rears. Offset seems to be +45. Thanks

How wide are the wheels? Offsets are useless without knowing the widths. The tires are on the skinny side OEM 20" come with 275/315.
