Looks like this mod will be in my future as well. What is the difference in brake Patel feel versus the stocks? I actually think the stocks feel pretty nice on my X5d. They are all brand new OEM though. Also, where are you guys scoring the front X5M calipers and necessary carriers from?

Pedal feels great but hard to do a straight comparison since I replaced all the rubber brake lines with stainless steel lines along with the new brakes, so can't really tell how much improvement came from each but it feels much better over stock. Everything is silent without any grease / brake quiet being used, and the amount of initial bite before bedding-in was impressive. Once I bedded-in everything was super smooth, very happy with the results. I used stoptech's bedding-in procedure - http://www.stoptech.com/technical-su...in-suggestions Little teaser w/ the reps - Last edited by Deftronix; 05-30-2017 at 10:13 AM.. |

Looks great buddy!! You and I have very similar looking cars to this point. Your brakes look so much better than mine though!! Lol!! So would you say you have $3k or $4k into this upgrade? Trying to garage the total upgrade costs. I saw you did ECS stainless brake lines. I installed a set of those on my E28 M5, and I was really impressed with their quality. They are very well made.

The lines fit perfectly and like you said, the quality is very high. All the crimped in stand-offs were all perfectly spaced so everything snapped into the stock routing brackets without any kinking. Spending the extra 120 was an easy decision to get the most out of the brakes I just spent a bunch more on. 3.5k including the 6 x SS lines and 2L of Castrol SRF which I think is pretty awesome considering if you priced out the independent parts is almost 6K so is pretty great BMW is offering this as a kit. Was able to offset the cost of the F85 rotors quite a bit by selling the non-drilled rotors that came with the kit. |

I just have some very simple question to check with you. Should I buy SS brake line kit for F15 model or E70 model? If using F85 rotors, I need to but two set of screws for front rotors or for rear rotors? Can you also let me know what is the corresponding part# for these screws please? If using the rotors comes with the retrofit kit, should I also buy any screws? Thank you in advance. :-) |

-Correct - 2 x 34111123072, you can only use one of the two spots on each side. No need to worry about the rears, the holes don't align with the threads. -The brake kit will come with the proper set screws for the F15 rotors, its just a different flange on the F85's |

I'm not 100% sure but if they do it'll be an extremely tight fit. There is almost no space between caliper and rim on my stock 20" style 300's.
