New X5

Since yesterday (sept 30) it looks like my new X5 went from "Schedule for Production" to "At Preparation Center" it skipped two steps. Maybe they just didn't update for a couple of days.

Either way I will be VERY sad to see my beloved Cayenne S go. I feel like I am turning my back on an old friend.

Most likely because is a bear to fuel, and costs an arm and leg to service.

I have 86,000 miles, and this is my company vehicle, we turn them around 80,000 miles. I am really not excited about getting rid of the Cayenne but its going to happen and the X will be nice but I'm not that excited about it.

That is what it does for cars built in the US. It will stay in the "At Preparation Center" stage for weeks while it is built and shipped to your dealer. It did the same with my wifes X5.

Fuel is what it is, I did order the Diesel X5 to double my mileage (that and in about a year the wife will use it as a DD). But service, while fairly expensive, is very rare. The Cayenne has been an awesome vehicle to own, I would not hesitate to buy another one, and if the "redesigned" one was available now I would buy it.

I really like the GTS, and I was planning on getting a Cayenne Turbo...but three things kept me from doing it.
1 - I didn't want to spend a whole bunch of money and find myself in the exact same interior that I spent the last five and a half years in.
2 - The wife wanted a larger vehicle. I have no idea why.
3 - I constantly bash hybrids and tell everyone that they would be better off with a modern diesel...and now I have to put my money where my mouth is.

Good to know. Thanks for the info. I like the P-Car, but the size was more than I could ever use, and I'd want the bigger power plant, and I know I'd load it up to a price that would be beyond reason. I do love the new cars coming out, but some of them are to far away for the present.

I'm not an X6 fan, and I would buy a Cayenne Turbo LOOOONG before I would buy and X6M.

I have to try the diesel.

Well its just you mentioned size being an issue, i just thought that the X6 would be larger than the x5, even though it looks too bulky
