Window Motor broken, help?

Hi guys. The window motor on my friend's 2002 X5 3.0 is broken and the window is stuck down. He told me this has happened four times before and the last time it happened, he got the dealer to replace it at no charge. Unfortunately, the dealer cannot get him in until Friday and I was wondering if there was a way to get the window up manually? I have a good independent shop for him to take the car in town, but if the dealer will replace it for no charge, he'd rather not take it there. Thoughts on the window motor?
