Weirdest HVAC behavior ever, my X5M is possessed!

I've never experienced this kind of behavior of anyone of my cars or BMWs I've owned. Not even the drama queen Ferrari does this.

Here are the parameters this usually happens. (7 out of 10 times)

Speed around 80+ mph
Freeway driving
HVAC A/C off, temp set slightly cooler than outside temp, fan speed one 1 bar, rear vent off.

At almost the exact same spot on the freeway plus minus 100 feet the HVAC fan would turn on full blast by itself for 1 second and then back to normal.

Doesn't matter which direction on the freeway I was traveling, but almost at the exact same spot.

Speed needs to be 80+, will not do this if below 80 mph.

Weirdest thing I've ever experienced in my life!

My X6M (2 weeks old / 1600 miles) has done this several times so far in various places, I am not sure the magic combination of settings that makes it happen. Also no idea if I was going above or below 80mph at those times, either.

I think it's some software control overcompensating for a perceived lack of coolness in the car??

Haven't had time to read my manual and see if there's anything in there about why and/or under what circumstances this might happen. It might be a feature!

Sounds like the control module is getting wacky. Have that checked out even if it doesn't throw any error codes on your screen.

So sounds like this is a common issue with the X5M.

I also have another issue which is also random. The rear vent sometimes will turn on all by itself when I start the car. Will not turn on by itself if it started out in the off position.

Would say it's probably 1 our of 20 times I start the car.

It happens in my car also but the sunroof has to be tilted when the air goes full blast for a second or so, didn't think it was a big deal just weird.

I can't remember if my sunroof was tilted, but most likely it was.

In my case every time my sunroof is tilted and the fan is on the lowest speed it happens of-course driving on the highway.

I think my old e92 used to turn the heater on automatically if I put my windows down at night. Or at least turn the air on, regardless of what temp I had it set at. I remember repeatedly turning it off one night only to look down and see it on. I sold the car soon after so I didn't have them look at it. The heater also used to randomly cut out for about half a second when on full blast. I know this isn't x5/x6 relevant but maybe they just have weird ventilation programming.
