My first BMW: New guy
Hey everybody. I'm brand new here, first post. I'm a car fanatic as you might pick up on but I've never owned a BMW. I'm an import guy and after I found this 2009 X5 4.8 for sale at a small lot in town who buys all their cars from the fair weather area of Southern Cal and ships them up here to the Seattle area, I hoped this would be a good one. I pulled the trigger despite some hesitation after hearing some of the issues from my buddy who is a BMW tech. Well it broke me right into BMW's when the CEL came on about 20 minutes after leaving the dealership haha! What luck. Turns out after some forum searching, chatting with my buddy and some troubleshooting in my garage, it was the vent valves on the valve covers, torn all kinds of bad! So I changed those out & ordered some all weather OEM floor mats while I was at it.
Anyway onto the photos. I bought it all stock and about two weeks later started the mods: Paint matched kidney grilles : Painted lower side grille inserts : Paint matched front reflectors : WeissLicht LED halo bulbs : WeissLicht LED fog light bulbs : WeissLicht LED license plate lights : Smoked tint over clear on taillights : Rear muffler delete w/ quad tips I bought it with about 88k miles and I'm now in 90k range. It's been pretty good to me so far, although there are some minor issues I'd like to fix, things I'd like to replace and what not just to get it up to my standards. It's my daily driver that replaced my 06 Tundra. I have a Doberman that is shown and he goes everywhere with me so I needed the SAV! space for his crate to go in the back. Overall, it's in great condition and with time I'll make it even better. Thanks everybody. I have a few things on my want list but first I'm going to service all the fluids. I already have new Stoptech slotted rotors and brake pads front and rear I'll install in the near future. I can't leave anything I drive alone so I foresee myself getting either some H&R springs or even better, KW coilovers. I also want to get some H&R spacers, new HID bulbs, and some other randomness. I have a pretty pricey wishlist on ECS tuning lol

Cascade Climbing X5!
As good as it looks all cleaned up, it's going to look that much better climbing some of those mountain passes. Congrats on the new purchase, I'm also a new owner of an X5 35d, loving it so far.
